Question first of all to you. What can you tell about Slovak cavalry unit WWII? Why we see photos with Romanian, German, even the Hungarian cavalrymen, but we do not see Slovak cavalry? Или я не прав?

Hello Alex,
First of all I am sorry for not showing here for a while but I was little bite busy. :D Slovakia as a country located mostly in the hilly terrain 9and this was even more true during WWII when in 1938 southern lower parts were occupied by Hungarians) had only 3 cavalry units. In 1939 there were 3 squadrons (Bratislava, Nitra and Michalovce). After reorganisation in January 1940 there were again 3 squadrons (1st in Bratislava, 2nd in Topolcany and Zvolen and 3rd in Nitra, Sered and Zvolen). After another reorganistation in May 1940 they were JPO 1 in Bratislava, JPO 2 in Sered as part of the 1st Division and III JPO in Michalovce as a part of 2nd Division. After october 1940 there were only two JPO (Bratislava and Michalovce) for 1st and 2nd Division.
JPO stands for Jazdecky prezviedny oddiel (Cavalery reco unit - squadron).
JPO 2 from Michalovce become shortly part of Fast group in summer 1941 in Soviet Union but after Fast Brigade was created in July 1941 JPO 2 wasn't its part. After Lipovec Fast Division was created and JPO 2 again was not a part.
In March 1944 JPO 1 was located in Bratislava and JPO 2 in Michalovce.

According to article in Czech magazine Historie written by Slovak military historian Zoltan Katreba cavelery units of JPO-2 stayed in SLovakia. Only mechanized units and cyclistic squadron.
Classical cavalry parts were not part of Rapid (Fast) Group, they stayed in Slovakia. What I hears book should be very good but unfortunately only in Slovak. Unless they will decide to translate and publish in English. I can give them suggestion. ;) Now I am going to change water in my daughter fish tank. :( :D
